GB and USA coaching clinics
As part of our continuing partnership with the National Basketball Association and in conjunction with USA Basketball and British Basketball we are pleased to be hosting two unique coaching clinics on Wednesday 18 July and Thursday 19 July prior to the Great Britain v USA games.
The clinics will run from 4:30pm until 6pm and will take place at the Sugden Sports Centre, 114 Grosvenor Street, Manchester, M1 7HL. Coaches from both the Men's and Women's Great Britain and US teams will be putting on the clinics, providing a not-to-be-missed personal development opportunity for coaches at all levels of the game.
The clinic on Wednesday 18 July will be delivered by Chris Collins and Steve Wojciechowski who work alongside USA Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski as Associate Head Coaches of Duke University men's basketball team. They will be joined by the Great Britain Men's Assistant Coach and Lead Performance Analyst, Tim Lewis.
Thursday 19 July will feature instruction by Great Britain Women's Assistant Coach Damian Jennings, who will be accompanied by the vastly experienced USA Women's Assistant Coaches Marynell Meadors, Head Coach of the Atlanta Dream, and Jennifer Gillom, former Head Coach of the Los Angeles Sparks.
The on-court clinics will take an in-depth look at topics from British Basketball's Areas of Emphasis and will conclude in enough time for coaches to make their way to the MEN Arena for the game. Please note that coaches will need to purchase tickets to the games separately. Tickets are available for purchase online at ticketmaster.co.uk or
on (0)844 847 800.
This is another fantastic opportunity for coaches across England and the UK to learn and support their own coaching development. Brian Aldred, Coach Development Manager commented: "England Basketball are working hard to support the development of coaches and having the support of USA Basketball, the NBA and WNBA allows us to showcase high level coaches and encourage our coaches to develop their own learning. We want all our coaches to be able to produce great players as part of the British player pathway."
Coaches wishing to attend this free event must email email@example.com
specifying which day(s) you would like to attend to confirm your place. Both clinics are open to both men and women coaches. A confirmation and further details will be emailed to those coaches who register.
